In celebration of Earth Day, Holy Redeemer hosted a "Beyond The Bin" recycling event for the young people, of all ages, served by our Faith Formation programs. Stephanie Bethke-DeJaeghere, who is the Environmental Technician Educator Coordinator for Lyon County, presented on a variety of initiatives people can be apart of regardless of their age.
Everyone was served an environmentally friendly meal and learned how to compost what was left. They also had the opportunity to learn about how clothing can be handled to reduce its environmental impact. Finally, they addressed the implications of our electronic waste.
Thank you to Stephanie for presenting, Mandy and Deidre for their support of the event, and all of our young people who attended. We greatly appreciated the way our college students were able to demonstrate how they are already utilizing composting at the Campus Religious Center.
